Have you ever thought to yourself – “I think I’m moderately funny. I at least have my moments. My dad thinks I’m funny. I have at least 4 friends that desperately want to hear everything I’m thinking . ok maybe 2. Or maybe just my sister. Oh, and my hubby. So yes, 2 people desperately want to know what I’m thinking at all times.”
Oh, just me? Ok then. I’ll just continue with my internal monologue. I know you care. Deeply.
There are at least 17 facebook friends who will click through a link and moderately care about what I write. I may be actual friends with 15 of them. Two are just creepers. But they comment a lot and make me feel good about my social networking standings. (and if you’re reading this, no I’m not talking about you. We have a deep personal friendship.)
So there are a total of 19 people plus my mom who are guaranteed to read this.
And that’s how this blog started. Just a slightly funny, very sarcastic girl with a dream – that one day people would look forward to reading her every thought. In a very sarcastic and hopefully funny way.
A few things about me (this section is to hook you so you think I’m so interesting and you start to care about me)
- I love coffee. Love it. Love it. Love it.
- I hate commas. Only in extreme circumstances will you see them used.
- I work from home as a freelance literary publicist. This allows me to drink mass amounts of coffee throughout the day and watch So You Think You Can Dance on hulu without anyone judging.
- I’m pretty good at what I do. Just saying.
- I just got married approximately 29 days ago. Best 29 days of my life. Other than that time I met Jason Castro. No, it was probably better than that. But only slightly.
- I’ve met Seth Godin. We talked about publishing. If you know who that is - be jealous. If not please go read his blog immediately.
- I never name drop. Ever. Except when it’s super exciting and interesting. Seth Godin and Jason Castro both fit that bill. So does Tim Gunn. But I’ve never met him.
- I was the junior baking campaign at the DuPage County fair when I was in middle school. Expect some amazing culinary feats on some upcoming posts. Like these cupcakes that I want to make for my sister’s bachelorette party. You probably wish you were on the guest list based on those cupcakes alone.
- I live in Chicago. Bucktown to be precise. I’m pretty hipster. But by hipster I mean completely preppy with only a pinch of hipster thrown in. But I try.
Anything else you want to know? Just stay tuned for the best blog ever. Seriously. It’s going to be worth all this build up.
And if it’s not. At least my mom would have enjoyed it.
